It is an ideal base for Bath, Cheltenham, Slimbridge, Cirencester, Westonbirt Aboretum and various National Trust properties, with easy access to footpaths, including Minchinhampton and Rodborough Common and locally in Hazel Wood. There are a variety of restaurants and pubs close by, with specialist shops including an excellent delicatessen and an award-winning bakery.
